On Thursday October 10, Ms. Daisy, the representative of York University visited our school and provided students with detailed information on admission requirements for the 2020-2021 academic year.
York University is the third largest university in Canada. It is listed in the 2019 Times Higher Education Special Issue World Influence Ranking; ranks fifth in Canada and is in the top 26 of the 450 higher education institutions around the globe, in 77 countries.
During the presentation, Ms. Daisy explained various aspects of York University in detail. She spoke to the difficulties and challenges faced when completing the application form, and answered a variety of questions in great detail for the students.
She presented information regarding the geographical location, school environment, curriculum, and major areas of study for undergraduates. In addition, she told students about York’s specialized exchange program, internship employment, academic advantages, and campus life.
For students who wish to enter the Schulich School of Business, they were introduced to the 4+1 Academic Project. This project involves undergraduate and postgraduate study in partnership with the business school which is an alternate application route for those students interested specifically in the study of business.
At the end of the formal presentation, Ms. Daisy patiently and meticulously answered questions raised by the students. After the session, she provided an opportunity for students who were curious about any of the information they had heard to have their specific questions answered in a more private way.

York University is located in the northern suburbs of Toronto, the largest city in Canada. It was founded in 1959 and this year is the 60th anniversary of the school.
York University has long been known for its Business Administration, Law, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, and Social Science Faculties. The Business Administration Faculty ranks first in Canada as published in the Financial Times Rankings
York University has 11 colleges, including Schulich School of Business, Osgoode Hall Law School, College of Environmental Studies, College of Literary and Professional Studies to name a few. There are 25 interdisciplinary and collaborative research centers, making it the third largest interdisciplinary research and teaching institution in Canada.
York University continues to expand and develop. The University currently offers a law degree jointly awarded with New York University and most notable is the management degree jointly awarded with Northwestern University. These innovative developments have brought York University international recognition.
In addition, York University is actively involved in the Canadian Aerospace Program. A major member of the Canadian and American Mars Exploration Research Institute, they have designed a number of space research instruments and facilities that are currently being adopted by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
