今年奖项的看点是什么？

与前几年相比，今年奖项的含金量显著提高。

除了往届大家熟知的“总督奖章”及“伊丽莎白女王奖章”这两项省级学术成绩奖励，今年苏附中加即将新增颁发的“总督学术奖章”，是由加拿大联邦政府颁发的奖章，属于国家级奖项。

在国内，目前被授权获准颁发国家级“总督奖章”的学校屈指可数，所以今年“总督奖章”的“升级”，其实也是对苏附中加十年来教学成果的一种肯定。

今年一月份，联邦议会代表团还来苏州观摩了苏附中加班的课程。这进一步肯定了苏附中加的教学影响力，使苏附中加班课程成为各校优先参考的典范。

今年将提名哪些奖项？

苏大附中中加班的外教老师目前正在确定2018-2019学年的加拿大学术大奖提名名单。

The teaching staff of the Sino-Canada Program is currently determining the nominees for Canadian Awards for the 2018-2019 academic school year. 

苏大附中中加班作为一所加拿大注册、认可的国际高中课程已有成立十多年的历史，中加班学生多年来每年都有学生被授予伊丽莎白女王奖章和总督奖章(Queen Elizabeth II and Lieutenant Governor’s Medal)。

As a registered and recognized Canadian International High School Program for over ten years, Sino-Canada students have been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II and Lieutenant Governor’s Medal at graduation for a number of years.

总督学术奖章计划是什么？

截至去年10月，加拿大总督办公室已授权中加班参加——总督学术奖章计划(Governor General’s Academic Medal program)。

As of October this year, the office of the Governor General of Canada has granted the Sino-Canada Program permission to participate in the Governor General’s Academic Medal program. 

加拿大联邦第三任总督达弗林勋爵于1873年创立了总督学术奖章，以鼓励全国学术卓越。多年来，它们已成为加拿大学生可以获得的最负盛名的奖项。

Lord Dufferin, Canada’s third Governor General after Confederation, created the Academic Medals in 1873 to encourage academic excellence across the nation. Over the years, they have become the most prestigious award that students in Canadian schools can receive.

现任加拿大总督朱莉·帕耶特阁下继承了鼓励奖学金和表彰杰出学生的传统。

The current Governor General of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette continues this tradition of encouraging scholarship and recognizing outstanding students.

怎样才能获得总督学术奖章？

总督学术奖章颁发给四个级别的学术优秀奖：

•中学阶段的铜奖;

•大专文凭水平的大学铜奖;

•本科阶段的白银;

•研究生水平的金奖

The medals are awarded for academic excellence at four levels：

· Bronze at the secondary level;

· Collegiate Bronze at the post-secondary diploma level;

· Silver at the undergraduate level;

· Gold at the graduate level

高中毕业后获得最高平均成绩的学生可获得总督学术奖章中学阶段铜奖。平均成绩按照教育部颁发的学生官方成绩单所列的计算范围进行计算，包括11年级和12年级的课程成绩。平均成绩无法预先获得，它必须根据期末考试成绩计算。加拿大公民身份并不是颁发奖章的先决条件。

A BRONZE medal is awarded to the student who achieves the highest average upon graduation from high school. It includes all grade 11 and grade 12 courses as listed on the student’s official Transcript of grades issued by the ministry of education. The average cannot be anticipated; it must be calculated based on final results. Canadian Citizenship is not a prerequisite for awarding the medal.

To be granted permission to participant in this prestigious national Medal program is yet another indication of the respect the Canadian Government have for the Sino-Canada Program and the partnership that has been established over the past decade.
